Come Elihu, say your piece We see your anger burn Job's inability to see his fault Has silenced the three for good In their silence you do feel That God has been condemned You may be young but now's the time To speak your words to them Yes I am young and you are old, that's why I kept my silence I did presume to know my place but now I can't be quiet I thought you'd speak with wisdom As men of God should do I've listened to you reason But your arguments have not come through You can't give Job an answer Don't say that he's too wise Your silence now has given me The time to speak my mind Listen Job to what I say, allow me to continue I speak to you with sincerity, with truth from the Almighty Answer me if you can, it's now that you can make your stand Don't be afraid, we're made the same, to God we are no different You say you're pure and innocent, You say you have not sinned. You say that God is punishing you An enemy He has picked But Job now let me tell you You've got it oh so wrong You've said yourself God is more than man So why do you bring this charge? You say He won't listen to you, or any man's complaints He does this through visions and dreams, it's just that no-one listens He'll whisper in the ears of many, to cause them to change their minds Or discipline through pain and sickness, til Death has marked their time But if an angel intercedes on behalf of someone To say this man has done no wrong, then God will hold His judgement His grace will be to hold back death, because He's found a ransom Rejuvenation will take place and prayers will be accepted This man will say that "I have sinned but the Lord has forgiven me He has rescued me now from the grave and my life is filled with light!" God will often do this deed and turn men from the grave To bring about Enlightenment and bring light to the living Listen Job, unless you speak, allow me to continue Eliphaz, Bildad, Zophar too, together let's discern what's good Job proclaims he is innocent and God has taken his rights He claims that he has done no wrong and everyone calls him a liar He's been inflicted with incurable disease despite his lack of sin Has there ever been such an arrogant man as Job with his lofty talk? He seeks the company of evil ones, spends time with wicked men He's even said "why waste time in trying to please God?" Anyone with wisdom knows this truth, that God just does not sin He treats people accordingly, God just does no wrong Who set this glorious world in motion With an abundance of diversified life If He decides to withdraw His breath Then to dust will all be consigned Could God really govern if He hated justice Could you accuse Him of taking a bribe Does He pay more attention to a king or diplomat Does a homeless man pass Him by He created all, we are all the same He sees everything we do No darkness can hide any hurtful desires Any moment His judgement will ensue Why can't people say to God I have sinned, I will sin no more Tell me where I have gone wrong So I can do no wrong no more It seems to me that you expect God to tailor his ways Because you reject His justice set Are you above the law? Add rebellion and blasphemy to your sins Your knowledge and wisdom have disappeared Job, your words have let you down You have spoken against the Almighty's crown Is it right to claim righteousness before God To say "what's the use, what's the point, how does it benefit me?" Look up high, to the heavens and I'll ask you this If you sin, what do you accomplish against Him? Commit atrocities, what effect will it have on Him? If you're good, is this a great gift to Him? Job, what could you possibly give to Him? Your sins dear Job only affect you now Good deeds dear Job may bring help, help to those around you The oppressed cry out, they may scream and shout They don't lay the blame at the Almighty's hand But if they do, it's the ones that reject his word He will not respond to great untruths But it's wrong to say that He doesn't hear It is wrong to say that He is not concerned It is wrong to say that He doesn't see The failure of man It is wrong to expect His immediate justice It is wrong to expect His immediate anger Who are we to call out 'Time' Job, your cries are in vain Add rebellion and blasphemy to your sins Your knowledge and wisdom have disappeared Job, your words have let you down You have spoken against the Almighty's crown God is mighty, He does not despise He is mighty in power and understanding. Don't think the wicked will be forever there He gives justice to the afflicted His eyes don't leave the innocent He will raise them up to glory If they should stray from the righteous path He will make them see their evils If man obeys and serves our God In paradise they would live But disobey, they pass away Without any knowledge, in adversity Men refuse to cry out for help to Him Even when He is the One punishing Unbelievers unable to open their ears Through suffering and oppression, that's the time to hear The word of God is there If only they would listen But you good people become too obsessed That the wicked will not be judged But this should not concern you Leave to God to do instead But watch yourselves more importantly That you are not seduced by wealth Consumed by consumerism, seduced by sin Does that bring you peace and health? God is all powerful, who can teach like He Who can call Him to account or question His good deeds? Bring glory to His mighty works and sing your songs of praise Look in wonder at His creation, be humbled to your knees See the signs in mother nature, His voice is there to hear Thunder, lightning, wind and rain, who gave life to these? The beauty of the single snowflake to the hurricanes out at sea There to pleasure, there to fear, there for life we need Listen Job and pay attention to the wonderful miracles of God Tell us now with all your wisdom and I shall keep my peace Do you know how the clouds are formed or how to silence the winds Or keep us covered from the rays of sun that protect all man and beast You think that you know oh so much, so tell us how we should speak Should God be told that I do talk, despite my ignorance I know our God is the Almighty and full of love and grace Let all men fear Him, as all with wisdom, give reverence to His Name
