And the man there then tells her

She stood by my side
Through the joy and the tears

She made me feel new

Had the fortune to love her

'Least the book of this life
Now I feel terrified
To not have my wife

And her clothes they now hang there
On a rail in that shop
'Till a young woman buys
A lovely pale blue top

And she wears it to dinner
With a good man and then
At the end of the evening
It happens again

The pale blue top
Its story's covered up
The scent of its wearer
Makes another fall in love

They'll never know the meaning
Of her colour that night
That made them fall in love
And stay in love for life
