Well I've been chasing temptations and vacant relations
Attempts at escaping complacent minds
Tendencies to blur the lines
These voices keep on telling me that I'm just fine
Praying by the struggles of my flesh
That I won't be defined
Years feeding off the chemicals my DNA was redesigned
This body may have its limits
But my spirits not confined
And though there's desperation in these eyes
Aware that what we need is change
Yet our addictions they leave us shackled
In these chains
Just like the priest who chose the pious life
But leads it crippled by His shame
Pontificates his principles the patterns of his blame
Thought religion was the answer
But it's blissful ignorance that grew the cancer
Hungry for the truth but he's been trapped within his mind
And it's what's left him damaged and confused
Within a paradox of struggles
You may gnash your teeth and ask for peace
But upon this narrow path is where you're bound to bleed.

Finding this salvation in the presence of insanity
Well it's been a while since I felt some inspiration
Lately I've been feeling I've grown to jaded
When it comes to being faced with
Demons of my own displacement
Music was my occupation now it seems so tasteless
Always in these sentimental thoughts I'd get lost
Stricken by this writers block and these expectations
I been searching for some motivation
But I've been blinded by my pride and I was self consumed
I watch the cynicism bloom
These cycles of uncertainty they burden me
Begging the question of eternity
Furthering obsessions of our own transgressions
We've been groveling and grasping for the heavens
Sins of the past they last to derail the present
Through this daily death it has leads us
To this resurrection and a state of clarity
Despite the cross I carry with me
Because even when I'm broken down
On bloody bended knee the devils present
And attempting to speak

We know we have a choice
And a free will to voice
The duality we're battling within us
The mentality is vicious self-righteous then vindictive
It's the wickedness that masquerades to play the helpless victim
But what's been done in the dark
Will be brought to the light
Despite the vulnerability that we can't help
But just fight it's by these words alone
That edify these hollow bones
Without the life we search for reasons
For the struggle and the sacrifice
