The wicked takes, but does not pay
The saints are generous and give
The blessed of God, the earth receive
But cursed ones, they shall not live

His footsteps are secured, for him
Who in the LORD delighteth, then
And though he fall, he shall not be
Cast down, the Lord upholdeth he

I have been young, and now am old
Yet have I not seen righteous ones
Be made to beg for daily bread,
No not the saints, and not their seed

But ever merciful, they are
And generous, they lend to all
His children, too, they do become
A blessing of their holy God

Depart from evil and do good
And safe, you'll dwell, forevermore
For God loves justice, so he won't
Forsake his saints, but kept they are

But lo! The seed of evil ones
Will be cut off, while all the saints
The earth, possess, and dwelleth there
And live upon the land for'ere
