I never wanted so bad to not be sober, never wanted so bad for the pain to be over
Thought never crossed my mind that I'd have to accept
That my best friends life has ended
Cuz she's pretty as a picture with the voice of an angel
I'm at a loss for words but I still got so much more to say yo
Live life, love life and do what you can

When we were kids she would invite me over to her dad's
We would spend all day singing songs by our favorite bands
She's definitely one of the best friends I've ever had
When she's around you know you felt like a kid in Disneyland
Raising hell like Chip and Dale doing ten year old stuff
She loved to sing, she loved the sun, yeah she loved to have fun
And as we grew older, man, we just didn't kick it enough
Now she's looking down upon me from the heavens above
But there's still so much about her that I have left to say
Like how when she's around you'd feel like a kid in Christmas day
Her eyes would light up the room like the stars light the sky
But when I got the news that morning all I could do was cry
Not everybody will know the way that I feel
We never know when death will happen but we know that it's real
She had a life left to give, she had a lot left to give
And in a flash everything was taken away too damn fast
Too damn fast
When life came in and by chance stopped her in her tracks like a car crash
I read the paper that day, what a bad decision
'Cause in my head I could envision the head on collision!
You hear it on the news
But you never expect to be the one the tragedy's gonna directly affect
Growing up with you girl was a treat to say the least
I just wish that you were her so we could go out for some drinks
I'm trying to feel better but you know I might not ever
'Cause I didn't know that last goodbye would be goodbye forever
But remember like, fun in the sun when we were young
I just never imagined life without you at twenty one
The wound is getting deeper and deeper every day and its like salt on the wound when I'm leaving flowers on your grave!
And I've probably cried an ocean since you've gone away
But is it selfish of me to like wish that you could've stayed

And you know I would do like anything for one of your hugs
