Ill-Advised

Ill-Advised: Presidential Health and Public Trust is a 1992 book by historian Robert Hugh Ferrell examining politically motivated cover-ups of serious medical issues afflicting U.S. presidents while they were in office. Although Dwight Eisenhower is the main focus of the book, it covers the presidency for a century, from Grover Cleveland's mouth cancer in 1893 to the health of George H.W. Bush, then-current president when the book was first published. All of these instances, Ferrell argues, raised serious questions about the fitness of each president to hold office, as well as whether the presidents and their physicians violated the public trust in keeping the incidents secret. more »

Summer shade
Oh babe, don't turn away
From the pain
Your demons fade
When we're dancin'
In the summer rain
Tears fall down your face
You say you want to run away
When we're chillin'
In the summer shade
Oh babe, don't turn away
From the pain
Your demons fade
When we're dancin'
In the summer rain
Tears fall down your face
You say this is an arms race
While we're chillin'
In the summer shade
Summer shade
Summer shade
Like a freedom plane
I'm on the way
Bang, bang
Saving face is out of date
I better not catch you droppin' frames
Start the fourth phase
Cameras flash
Shame, shame
Sanity is obsolete
You can try to hide
But there's no escape
Like the seasons
She comes and goes
Comes and goes
No emotion
Will I ever know
Ever know
Simulation daze
I forget
How it felt
The day we first met
I'm comfortably numb
I want to go
Oh babe, don't turn away
From the pain
Your demons fade
When we're dancin'
In the summer rain
Tears fall down your face
You say you want to run away
When we're chillin'
In the summer shade
Oh babe, don't turn away
From the pain
Your demons fade
When we're dancin'
In the summer rain
Tears fall down your face
You say this is an arms race
While we're chillin'
In the summer shade
Summer shade
Summer shade
We're so in love tonight
Your drowned eyes
Staring back at mine
Killed me with those city lights
Confined to a century in decline
Remorse like an open sky
Starstruck by another kind
The last summer
Of a simpler time
Living in a century in decline
Summer shade
Summer shade
Summer shade
Summer shade
Oh babe, don't turn away
From the pain
Your demons fade
When we're dancin'
In the summer rain
Tears fall down your face
You say you want to run away
When we're chillin'
In the summer shade
Summer shade
Oh babe, don't turn away
From the pain
Your demons fade
When we're dancin'
In the summer rain
Tears fall down your face
You say this is an arms race
While we're chillin'
In the summer shade
Summer shade
We're so in love tonight
Summer shade
