Spent her life longing for a home she's never saw
Walks 'round on her tiptoes like she's gonna fly away
Halfway Angel's looking for someone to make her stay
Halfway Angel's halfway 'tween a woman and a child
Always been an old soul but she's always running wild
And when she loves she loves with all her heart and nothing less
Though never in return she still thanks God that she is blessed

But still she cries
Why am I so lonely in this world of pretty flowers
Flowing streams and mountains high
She longs to fly away from all her hurt
And yet she knows she's meant to be the Halfway Angel
Stuck between the earth and sky

She has memories from another place, another time
Memories so lonely that sometimes they make her cry
And it doesn't help her feel a stronger anchor to her life
When she passes by an open field or pine trees standing high
Yes Halfway Angel knows that she will never quite belong
She searches for her purpose and a reason to go on
She only hopes that when she leaves she leaves something behind
A shot of how she saw the world, a picture of her mind

But still she cries

Stuck between the earth and sky

She sees the world through different eyes
And tries to understand
Why she can't be satisfied with this life she's been given
And though I'm just this halfway angel searching for my wings
Someday I'll know what it all means
