From this wretched unease

A sense of validation that can come from inside of me
To break through all the dark and apathy
Before I take these thoughts and act out accordingly
Sometimes it feels like the world is just swallowing
Every single thought that I have without faltering

The innocence and happiness
Is something that I truly miss
It leaves us and starts to decay
With every waking moment we begin to age
I'm grasping with broken hands
Beneath the weight of it all
I can barely stand
Maybe if you notice the fear in my eyes
You will understand that I'm not alright

Purgatory in my mind
Articulation is the hardest task
I cannot say the words I find
Struggling to keep on the mask
