Never Coming Home

Falling Away is the second album by American rock band Crossfade, released on August 29, 2006. According to Mitch James, the band's bass player, the album has sold a little over 200,000 copies to date, short of the platinum status of their self-titled debut. As a result, Crossfade parted ways with Columbia Records. The album spawned three singles: "Invincible", "Drown You Out", and "Already Gone". The song "Breathing Slowly" was also on the band's first album, Numb, which they released in 1999 under the name The Nothing. more »

Autumn has come the leaves do they fall
Fall to the ground like rain from the clouds
Oranges and yellows bleed through the trees
So why am I still just as sad when it comes Hallows Eve
It's been 3 months or so they said it'd get better
But by this October the tears just got wetter
I can't bear to look on my happiest day
I fear that any hope of solace has gone and went away

I've waited it out
Just like they said I should
Waited till the one day
When the tears should have went away
I can't bear to look
I can't bear to swallow
I'll keep on the mask
Even on the days after Halloween

The pumpkins and faces all seem to smile
Staring me down as I walk up the aisles
To cheer myself up in festive themed stores
And walking up and down the crescent beach shores
All of these places are just too familiar
All of these spaces just aren't as peculiar
I can't bear to look as I walk down the street
Watching children knock on doors to ask trick or treat

I've waited it out
Just like they said I should
Waited till the one day
When the tears should have went away
I can't bear to look
I can't bear to smile
I'll keep on the mask
Even on the days after Halloween

I waited 3 fucking months
It never got better
I only drowned deeper and deeper
I can't keep up this act
Pretending to be happy
So I'll push everyone away from me
Just stay away from me
Please
I'm not who I used to be

I've waited it out
Just like they said I should
Waited till the one day
When the tears should have went away
I can't bear to look
I can't bear to smile
I'll keep on the mask
On the days after Halloween
