Old man
What would you say to me today
Old man
I need to know so please be stern and straight
Old man
If you live for another fifty years and saw me here today
What would you say
Oh I´ll see you in heaven on judgement day
Did you love
Did you forgive
Did you obey
Did you follow Jesus with faith
Did you believe and preach his grace
Were you faithful with the small
Were you faithful everyday
Did you live for people's opinions
Or in fear of what they may think or say
Did you run your race
I don't think you get me
I'm asking you
Did you run to get the prize
Or did you run to get recognized
Did you run for the present
To receive a crown that will perish
Or did you run to build the kingdom of heaven
And receive a crown that'll last forever
Were honest with people
Were you honest about sin
Did you confront them
And tell them to repent
Or were you too focused drawing crowds
And just making friends
Did you care about their souls
Did you realize that every person you met
Would die and grow old
Did you realize that God gave you gifts
But He gave the world gifts too
Did you use what he gifted you to equip and build people
And encourage them to do what God called them to do
Or was ministry a platform about you
Did you look at the world through the eyes of Jesus
Did you have compassion for the broken
Whose lives were in pieces
Did you believe that God could save anyone
Wait a second
I said anyone
Have you got testimonies of the worst of sinners
Whose lives were radically changed by Christ the Son
Did you believe in Gods call
Did you believe in the gospel
Did you preach with persuasive words to please people
Or with Gods power that's unstoppable
Did you make much of Jesus
Did you reach out to non believers
Could they imitate you
Wait
Did you imitate Christ
Or did you live for your own comfort without any sacrifice
Did you deny yourself
Did you carry your cross
Did leave the ninety nine and go reach the lost
Did you leave a legacy of faith
Did you preach the true gospel that offends people
Without being afraid
Did you make converts or solid disciples
Did you pray for enemies
Especially the ones that didn't like you
Did you outgrow repentance
Did you trust in your own plans and become independent
Did you believe his love was relentless
And when he said you're forgiven
Did you believe he meant it
Did you stop and think that life is short
That you can't live for yourself
Did you protect your heart and mind from the love of money
And storing up wealth
Did you trust him when he said trouble would come
Did you endure or did you give up
In the valleys and storms
Did you reach out to God
And allow his grace to be enough
Did you burn out
How is that possible
Chris where do you see that see that in the gospels
Did you take your eyes off Jesus
Did you surround yourself
With a few faith filled
On fire
Non compromising
Sold out believers
Did you sharpen others
Did you allow them to sharpen you
Did you surrender and submit to God
Did you let him lead and guide you
Did you tell pride go and die
Or did you get puffed up
If so get on your knees
And ask God to open them eyes up
Were you a waking testimony of grace
Or did you allow room for excuses
Like people and your surroundings to take it's place
Did you give into sin
Or hold onto the righteousness that you were given
Did you put on the on the armor of God
When the fiery darts came hitting
And when people tried to change the gospel
Did you correct them
Or were you too timid to stand firm
Did you allow their futile faith to suppress them
Did you fight the good fight of faith
Did you use his word as your weapon
Did you stop other people from watering down the gospel
And see Jesus set people on fire and send them
Did you boast in your weakness
Could people look at life and say I believe in Jesus
Were you bold
Did you stand out
Or did you conform to the ways of the world
Where people had no idea you were a Christian who was sold out
Did you believe that there was one way
Only through the narrow gate
Did you allow the rest of the world
To travel down the broad path
Into destruction to meet their eternal fate
Chris I could go and on
I know you want to finish this spoken word off strong
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and carry on
In a second it will all be gone
