High school friends and college friends, some guy I met last week
Their kids and their cats, their political spats
A treasure trove of wonder so to speak

But there's nothing on Facebook that I want to read today
It's probably because of you
Every meme, every dream, every money-making scheme
You're compelled to share and that's what you do

The presence of her posts fills me with dread
If she sees it then she shares it
My sensibilities can't bear it
Maybe I'll try Twitter now instead

Twitter is a place that's filled with people I don't know
But they always have important things to say
They're funny and they're smart
They're into politics and art
I get lost for hours every day
