Kincade

Kincade was an English band that was formed in 1972. In that year, they had their hit single, "Dreams are Ten a Penny", but the band itself did not exist at the time. The song was written by John Carter and his wife Gill. Carter also sang all the vocals and played the guitar on the record. The song was released by the British record producer on his Penny Farthing Records label. Although the record was unsuccessful in the UK, it reached the #2 in Germany, spent six months on the charts there, and sold a million copies. more »

Me vs. Me that's the only opponent
Lights on flashing I think it's my moment
Genuine guy come and hop on the pony
My mama name Cookie my daddy name Tony
Earning my stripes, be a Tiger by morning
Learning bout' ice gotta' get me garment
Down on my ass bunch of weapons was forming
Drown out the past, by myself I'm a army
Me vs. Me that's the only opponent
Lights on flashing I think it's my moment
Genuine guy come and hop on the pony
My mama name Cookie my daddy name Tony
Earning my stripes, be a Tiger by morning
Learning bout' ice gotta' get me a garment
Down on my ass bunch of weapons was forming
Drown out the past, by myself I'm a army

Walk out the house and I enter a war
Scary outside but I'm know I'm protected
After my goals, checking shit off my checklist
Mama I made it just look at my checking's
Saving the day, I don't know what's in store
Whatever it is ima hand out some blessings
If I shall die don't you go to the morgue
Don't need fake energy I'm in there resting
See that's a figure of speech, feeling just like screech
Cause I'm young and I'm blacc I'm restless
Lay down a bricc everyday when I go to the blocc
Non stop building buildings like Tetris
Used to play ball could've played for the Texans
No phone calls, if you really can text it
No second guessing I'm learning my lesson
I'm up next can spotlight Texas
Roll up a gar in the car I'm the neighborhood star
I'm cruising I'm missing my exits
Go to the bar with a jar, know I'm breaking the law
Feel like Popeye when ever I'm flexing
I'm going far, with the bars so they know who we are
Gotta heal up my scars not neglect it
Followed my vision I done some reflecting
Upping my digits doing what I expected
