Well lately, I've been a wreck
Plus this morning, my junkie neighbor stole all of my cigarettes
So that's cool
Nothing new
I've been worse, how bout you

And every morning now, I've spewed a
Mixture of a tarry substance and a half a cup of sputum up
I'm rapidly declining, though I keep the dream of fleeing far
I can't go half an hour without coughing till I'm seeing stars
Klonopin and Nyquil ought to stop the gears from turning
A zombie in the morning, just focus on the earnings
I wake up 6pm and load a bowl to start the days
My past and I have clearly not yet parted ways
So that's cool

Though mostly sung mum, a reticent, terse treader
Sharp-tongued, like "swordplay" with a jettisoned first letter
Though not the first or illest dude
To rock a verse and spill the truth
My shoddy, curséd past provides a drop of verisimilitude
Sometimes I just don't understand this life shit
I wanna disappear, I'm on some Chris McCandless-type shit
Sick of all the shit to cause a man to go insane
I just can't stand any more pain

It's a curse
The jitters and the nerves are quite persistent
And I've found with every intermittent urge
I've gotta pencil in a verse to keep me grounded
Or it gets a little worse
Guess I struggle with the imp of the perverse
I must admit, I spill my guts a bit too much to strangers
Often flustered, unaccustomed to my unencumbered nature
I'm the ever-growing guestbook in the cabin left for winter
