Of a better world and the cynics who
Seek control over everything
Corrupted, they use us all to gain power
But we don't have to put up with their abuse
We can search for ways to overcome
Their domination

Using hot button issues and charged rhetoric
They attempt to divide us; distracting our focus
As though we have endless time
But the younger generations are inheriting
A planet full of challenges; the extinction
Of our race, and countless others
Is a grim possibility
The time has come to put
An end to their deception
We're talking about the survival
Of our species, which has only
Just begun to live
To die in infancy would be
An immeasurable loss
We must choose wisely
Which road we shall take
We must act swiftly
And with great control
To reset the expectations
Of what a life should bring us
And what we are unwilling
To accept
Each one of us has within
Three forces: the dark, and the light
As well as the will to act freely
Harness your will and choose the light
It is an investment that grows
Stronger with time

This is a war
Goodness is powerful and potent
Protected by innocence and preserving of
The ways of progress and enlightenment
These are the keys that we need
To restore purpose and mission

Light, we could establish a status quo
Of benevolence and determination
To provide peace to all
But there are those who don't want

Who gin up hate and xenophobia
Allowing them to go no further
Certainly not to the White House
Where trust is most important
The highest office must be occupied
By sincere, conscientious visionaries
Whose skill and compassion are
Essential to command the ship of state
Toward the fabled promised land
Believe that this is possible
Let us crash upon the shores of
The future in a wave of honest acts
Let us wash away the corruption
Of previous and current generations

We'll clear the way, so that we might
Focus on the challenges we face
There's no way to confront these challenges
As long as those with a vested interest
In the ways of old remain in control
We are the ones to correct the
Imbalance; we can save our world

With will and technology
As well as grassroots efforts
We will make it to another
Day; and we will thrive
We'll gain new tools to engineer
Equilibrium within the environment
I can see a future world where crops
Are endless, and not dependent on
Weather patterns to grow
Beyond this, humans may energize
Through alternate means
Food may not always be necessary to
Survive, and machines will work and live
With us in harmony
We'll explore and terraform new worlds
Living out the creed that our cosmos
Is essentially good
And people everywhere will
Experience long, meaningful lives
Free from trauma and fear
I have begun to suspect that this is all there is
Our solitary world, spinning quietly in the night
We'll return to this universe once again
Regaining our chance to make these
Dreams come true

The light in the night is right and
Fair; bringing life to nothingness
And easing despair
But we alone can remedy our lot
For we alone know what we've sought
From the open mental space
In our prayers of truth
And unending grace
Through acts of strength and
Will, to enlighten everyone
We can make this happen
We can change the pattern
