Thelonius

Thelonious Sphere Monk (, October 10, 1917 – February 17, 1982) was an American jazz pianist and composer. He had a unique improvisational style and made numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire, including "'Round Midnight", "Blue Monk", "Straight, No Chaser", "Ruby, My Dear", "In Walked Bud", and "Well, You Needn't". Monk is the second-most-recorded jazz composer after Duke Ellington.Monk's compositions and improvisations feature dissonances and angular melodic twists and are consistent with his unorthodox approach to the piano, which combined a highly percussive attack with abrupt, dramatic use of switched key releases, silences, and hesitations. Monk's distinct look included suits, hats, and sunglasses. He also had an idiosyncratic habit duri… more »

What's up Amilia... it's Natalia
It's been a long time since we last talked
We came in this world parallel
Learned to speak, learned to spell
Learned to crawl since we last walked
You know we got some rapping ass daddies right
A linear connection and it's only us
I know you can relate to everybody running up
To the daughters of Christilez and Thelonius
I think that I can speak for Selena
He's teaching us to love the skin we're in like Neutrogena
Deeper than submarines in a Battleship arena
Overworking his vessel can he sleep in the marina
I know you see the same in your father from his daughter
They provide protection from the monster in the water
Teach us how to dive for them diamonds and the pearls
Tyler Perry couldn't cast three better Little Girls
Now the dark part comes
It's the same song with a different kind of drum
It's the same war with a different type gun
It's the same race with a different type of run
He can win a battle but he can't beat depression
A soul full of riches with the heart of a recession
I done seen him up, and I done seen him down
He Threw away his old throne for a new crown
I see doubts and insecurities
I see fears of obscurities
I seen him cheating to win a fair love
I see a black man in America
I wish I could covet his mental health
Instead of a diagnosis from somebody else
To them, he's a number to help even the odds
To me... he's larger than life... a demigod

I gotta alot on my mind but I can't explain it
I see my daddy goin' hard, staying sane, maintaining
I see the pain in his ways but he ain't complaining
Even I know he'll give his life so mines' stay safe in a haven
He's so amazing
I gotta alot on my mind but I can't explain it
I see my daddy goin' hard, staying sane, maintaining
I see the pain in his ways but he ain't complaining
Even I know he'll give his life so mines' stay safe in a haven
He's so amazing

Hey Natalia it's Milli Rock
You know both of our daddies can make the city stop
And I be tryna sing a song when it's really hot
In a daze 'cuz I'm amazed when I sit and watch
Giving his all, more than trying to me
He's big to them but a really a giant to me
I see the pain in his eyes when he's tired and weak
So I just tell him I love him with a kiss on the cheek
We're so eager to learn one thing at a time
Only 5, you relate to the things on my mind
Get mad when he say I can't go for that ride
Cuz me and mommy get scared every time he outside
He's a man with pride sometimes we might collide
But he still make me smile and help me go down the slide
He never lets give me, he's always making me try
I just pray that the fire still burns in his eyes
Cuz we just some little girls in a cold world
And our daddies probably give us their last breath
And if you're gonna jump you gotta take a big leap
So that you'll never ever regret your last steps
He keeps telling me but I don't understand
It's just something that I just can't grasp yet
So many things running through my little head
Most of them questions that I can't ask yet
So I don't say a word I just listen and learn
Cuz one Daddy said it's gon' be my turn
I can see it right now but the future's a blur
You and I are both daughters of a Christopher
I see hope in the sky when I look at the stars
Even though it's outer space it don't seem that far
He told to think big and I dream real hard
Okay enough about my Daddy let's go play with my dolls

I gotta alot on my mind but I can't explain it
I see my daddy goin' hard, staying sane, maintaining
I see the pain in his ways but he ain't complaining
Even I know he'll give his life so mines' stay safe in a haven
He's so amazing
I gotta alot on my mind but I can't explain it
I see my daddy goin' hard, staying sane, maintaining
I see the pain in his ways but he ain't complaining
Even I know he'll give his life so mines' stay safe in a haven
He's so amazing
