O Child of Earth, the Gates, the Gates of Heaven
Are waiting there for us to enter in
But here on Earth we’re far removed from Heaven
It’s just a dream, a dream I fear may end

But then comes Jesus… and he takes us by the hand
He leads us forth and gently shows the way
Down paths of goodness and through shadows of despair
Just follow Jesus and he’ll lead you there

Our life moves on and we soon know that it must end
It’s like a rose that blooms and fades with time
The summer flies and shadows soon begin to fall
The darkness comes and gathers us within

But then comes Jesus and he takes us by the hand

The gates of heaven are open wide to all his friends
So, Child of Earth, just stick with Jesus to the end
