STRANGERS IN THIS BAR
Written by Carolyn Miller and Christina Taylor

It was a cold December night
When we got off the train
Went to the bar on Front Street
To end the night again
Not five minutes in I see you there
Standing with her and her long blonde hair
Something about you just don’t seem right

And I hate that I gotta watch you
Avoiding me tonight

And I’m thinking who are you
With your slicked back hair and the new tattoo
Drinking a drink I’ve never seen you order before
And I’m thinking why are we
Acting like we never had anything
I’m the only one here who really knows your heart
And now we’re strangers in this bar

It’s funny how in life
People come and go
And the ones you held so close
Turn into faces you don’t know
Cuz I’m staring deep into your eyes
And I don’t even know who’s inside
You swore you’d never be that guy

And I hate that I gotta watch you
be someone else tonight

And I’m thinking who are you
With your slicked back hair and the new tattoo
Drinking a drink I’ve never seen you order before
And I’m thinking why are we
Acting like we never had anything
I’m the only one here who really knows your heart
And now we’re strangers in this…

This bar where you first kissed me
The same night we drank too much whiskey
Yea we didn’t have a clue
That two young kids would fall in love
And build a life that they’d dream of
For six whole years

And I’m thinking who are you
With the slicked back hair and the new tattoo
Drinking a drink I’ve never seen you order before
And I’m thinking why are we
Acting like we never had anything
I’m the only one here who really knows your heart
Yea I’m the only here who ever knew your heart
And now we’re strangers in this bar
