THE DAY THEY KILLED HIP-HOP
I remember the day they killed Hip-Hop, Nas dropped it was written. His conscious lyrics became too authentic and the white rich felt threaten. Like how dear he bring them platinum plaques back to the projects and got them hood niggas feeling like they were GOD’S again.
During Esco season, Big ask Pac who shot you? It wasn’t much more but just accusations until the radio begin instigating then the East and West love started changing. Pac was filled with so much hatred, manipulated by Satan he changed from a passionate activist to a man of rage as the devil just ashed his cigar with his red suite on. But thru it all, Ray still gave us the purple and got gave a shot out to Connecticut in the incarcerated Scarface it’s no denying that the Wu-tang made us all feel united.
But that day they killed Hip-Hop, I lived a hard Knock life like Jay-z, I’m a product of Prodigy on a corner with Supreme client tell, wearing a ghostface cause these shook ones tell. It’s hell on earth; these mean streets bang beats of havoc. Hip-Hop nearly survived if it wasn’t for the soul tapes of Fabulous.
Yo! Blast the classic like illmatic Epic’s an outcast because I don’t mumble or brag about living lavish; with raps that’s average that’s the shady aftermath why Hip-Hop passing; but when Epic’s pen clashes with the pad I am like Jesus to Lazarus. Hip-Hop catalyst was ready to die so this is life after death I feel the pressure with all eye’s on me. I’m as deadly as the great Makaveli while many men rot away in the beast’s belly. Yeah you could careless like Tommy but I wrote this sincerely.
Shit it scared me the day they killed me Hip-Hop. It was dark and hell is hot they X my best man. He had the locs and move more poison than Bobby, Ronnie and Ricky. Hip-Hop found guilty convicted of being to explicit; got to cover the ears of my children. My life sentence behind every bar, I could be Nas apprentice or a close kin of Ra’kim for my pen is much mightier than your sword.
Epic sketch words that echoes; I’m out on the West coast. Riding shot gun with Hip-Hop in the land of Death row. On the Compton strip for show, were they advertise they gang signs; but blood or crip all respect Nispey hustle. Getting the hang of this three wheel motion as choking off the chronic as I listen to the lyrics of Kendrick and J-cole.
Hip-Hop had me rocking the tan kakis with the black wallabies Epic is Westside connected. Who drop jewels more valuable then Rick the ruler necklace. My spoken words are black thoughts and philosophy, a written biography the origin of Hip-Hop expressed and manifested thru the art of my poetry.
The autopsy of Hip-Hop history is Graffiti, break dancing, pop- locking, Bee-bop to free styles in the streets. Brown Sugar Hip-Hop was my first love back when my Uncle Luke gave you a right to speak. The day that they killed Hip-Hop was truly the day that they killed him consciously.
