I was looking for a man draped in beauty and splendor
An Everlasting Father who promised to be the perfect defender
A Mighty Counselor who’d mend my broken heart and call into my gender
A Friend who will hear the faintest whispers and fill the hole in my center. 

…So, I flipped to the first page of Genesis and remembered. My Identity. 

I read that Eden never dreamed of her devastation
She had all hope and joy imagined in its fullest sensation
Because God and man dwelled together in her garden of life 
Peace knew no end under these bright Heavenly Lights, 

That is until man broke his harmony with the Creator
He took a prideful bite and viewed his own sufficiency as greater
Eden groaned, for sin had conceived and death was born 
And the Spirit of God was grieved. The Father’s heart, torn
 
Man got cast from Eden, imprisoned by hopeless dark
The curse of sin harvesting inside of his joyless heart 
When God listened, man shifted blame as shame made him a slave! 
Waiting for a pardon without the actual desire to change. 

The Most High God, perfectly Holy and Just 
Could’ve blamelessly left him lying in the dust. 
It would’ve been fair for God to leave man in his grave
But He proclaimed a new Offspring would rescue us and reign. 

A Creator who's draped in beauty and splendor
An Everlasting Father who promised to be the perfect defender
A Mighty Counselor to mend broken hearts and reconcile gender
A Friend who will hear our whispers and fills the hole in our center. 

Just when I thought my life counted as nothing
This sublime discussion clenched my heart all of sudden. 
Light outshined darkness with a Divine Eruption. 
Matthew had news us; that our King was coming 

The prophesied Messiah from the town Nazareth 
The Precious Son of God who could reverse what Adam did 
The one who soon straightened the lame and raise up Lazarus 
Jesus is his name, and His advent immaculate. 

He is the very image of God; the Absolute Epitome 
In Him is all of God; so, He and God are synergy
Though He created all things to display His supremacy
Jesus set aside His glory to be in our vicinity 

He grew up honorable. Loved by God and favored 
He lived apart from error; not once did he waiver 
Radiance and righteousness became his reverent makeup 
Weighing his Father glory, He lifted Scriptures way up.

He’s the Creator who's draped in beauty and splendor
The Everlasting Father; The perfect Promised Defender
The Mighty Counselor; God in human flesh, copping our redemption
Faithful friend to those who trust in Him, and make him the Center 

Jesus touched the hearts of men but his kin weren’t feeling him
He took on fleshly skin though we were bent on killing him 
Stripped of His majesty, we couldn’t adore his face yet
He dwelt among his human race to destroy the works of Satan.

On his back, lay the weight of our hate and unregenerate states.
Our hurt, infirmities, uncertainties, and pain
Every ounce of sin, guilt and shame absorbed into His veins. 
While we were still sinners, Christ came and died in our very place. (That’s grace)
