Running away to Paris, Texas
Trying to escape from all the things I've dealt with
I just wanna be with all my friends
And free from all responsibility
Running away to Paris, Texas
Trying to escape from all the things I've dealt with
I just wanna be with all my friends
And free from all responsibility
I just want to be up
You and me together at 3 AM
Why do I feel so alone
When this is the place
That I call my home
Running away to Paris Texas and I wonder how
I'm gonna hide from all the problems that I deal with now
In the desert I hope I'll forget just who I am
A romanticised fantasy I'll never speak of again
I love the city but I need to feel free
All part of a petty bourgeoise dream
Live and die in the place I was brought up in
It's what I want but I'll run like the wind (one day)
I'll stay
Walking up to Kensal Green on a Saturday
Paris, Texas doesn't seem too far away
Running away to Paris Texas and I wonder how
I'm gonna hide from all the problems that I deal with now
In the desert I hope ill forget just who I am
A romanticised fantasy I'll never speak of again
Running away to Paris Texas and I wonder how
I'm gonna hide from all the problems that I deal with now
In the desert I hope ill forget just who I am
A romanticised fantasy I'll never speak of again
And for the first time he wished he were far away
Lost in a deep, vast country where nobody knew him
Somewhere without language or streets
And he dreamed about this place without knowing its name
And when he woke up he was on fire
There were blue flames burning the sheets of his bed
He ran through the flames towards the only two people he loved
But they were gone
