Artificial Skies

Yesterday I took a walk along the river side With concrete covered Earth beneath my feet An unfamiliar wind touched my face reluctantly Swiftly, I lifted my eyes to what appeared to be an unnatural sky Though the sky was blue The clouds seemed to have been robbed of their curvature As I gazed deeper into the blue The witnessing of disharmony was obvious The clouds were as a woman broken into a million pieces And the blue as a man unable to protect his wife The sky being void of life paralyzed from spurious clouds Was no longer complimenting Just as a beautiful people pillaged, colonized and raped So the distressed sky and broken clouds by the same enemy Even the trees assimilated nature's distress throughout the Earth People stare into the skies everyday with their eyes wide shut While the trail of chemicals swap places with the clouds Manmade clouds smeared like lipstick But the skies still recognizes the charlatan And now I understand the reluctancy of the wind touching my face It was nature's unsettling dispute Surely the children of the Earth notice the yielded smile of the sky Just as the blue sky laments over the brokenness of his wife Artificial skies just as blue as the ocean yet white as sand Just as white as a shimmering new moon and rare as the bluest star But nothing will satisfy the sky's blue heart but his wife We call her clouds
