You know, cowboys, like most folks Don't always get all the exercise they need And often time, your friends have your best interests at heart And it pays to take heed Friend Jim, he said to me one day You oughta take up walkin It'll do your heart just a world o' good Just do it, stop your talkin So I went for a little mountain walk In Yosemite's cool, clean air What do I see layin' cross the trail But a big ol' grizzly bear But I'm not afraida' that bear I'm not afraida' him He don't scare me none I'm just a heedin' ol' Jim So I started walkin' down the trail As easy as can be I happen to glance to find The bear's walkin' after me I think I'll pick it up a little Jim says "If you wanna do some good, you oughta take up joggin It gets the heart a pumpin' fine, and really clears your noggin" Now I'm not afraida' that bear I'm not afraida' him He don't scare me none I'm just a heedin' ol' Jim So I started joggin' down the trail As easy as can be I happen to glance back to find The bear's joggin' after me I think I'll pick it up a little here Jim says, "To do the job just right, you oughta take up runnin Get rid of that unsightly fat, you'll feel better every mornin" Now I'm not afraida' that bear I'm not afraida' him He don't scare me none I'm just a heedin' ol' Jim So I started runnin' down the trail As quickly as can be I happen to glance back to find The bear's runnin' after me I think I'll pick it up a little more here Jim says, "Now every once in a while, you outghta really chunk it Get out and run for all you're worth Pretend that you're Jim Plunkett!" Now I'm not afraida' that bear I'm not afraida' him He don't scare me none I'm just a heedin' ol' Jim So I started chunkin' it down the trail As quickly as can be I happen to glance back to find The bear's chunkin' it after me Shoot I've got it figured out by now My best chance at survival Is to get up that big pine tree Before that bear's arrival Now I'm not afraida' that bear I'm not afraida' him He don't scare me none I'm just a heedin' ol' Jim Now the first limb on that big ol' pine Is more than thirteen feet But at this speed and with a mighty leap I may still have this thing beat I feel the bear's breath at my back As I leap high for that limb Then I realize with sinkin' heart That I've missed to my chagrin But I'm not afraida' that bear I'm not afraida' him He don't scare me none I'm just a heedin' ol' Jim My whole life flashed before my eyes I thought of Jim, That clown Well, I missed the limb on my way up But I caught it on my way down
