O dubiety
E'er lugubrious
Thy diffusing mist
That environs me
Gloomily persists
By the iron gate
My accursed fate
Becomes preposterous
On this dark estate
Settled 'pon a hill
Where the whippoorwill
And twilight obfuscates

Through the verdant grove
And the foggy fen
I was close to home

By the summoned skull

Where the elderberry
And the rustic robin
Commingle with the briar
Where it builds its nest
Through the autumnal fire
Hitting from the west
Came to a peristyle
Where I watched the crest
Through innumerable isles
Softly deflect
The panoply of rays
That were emanating
Ostensible display
Through the hidden acres
I couldn't get away
If I wanted to
Follies form pervades
And slowly does endue
Peculiar images
Which are ineffable
For me unto describe
To the listeners ear
I can only try
The best I can
To softly steer
And behold with ken
All which that I see
In this universe
By diminished trees
As I muse on earth
