Ain't it funny how life plays out
I got a fresh degree and my dad's last name
Didn't take long for my white picket fence dreams to change
Don't get me wrong I picked the road I'm on
But sometimes I can't help the second thoughts
'Cause back home my best friend got married
The prom queen's having a baby
My first boyfriend put a rock on somebody else's hand
Feels like I'm 5 years behind
I'm on my own, barely getting by
I swear yesterday we were drinkn' in basements
Now I'm just here tryna stay grounded
While everybody else is

I got this one bedroom to myself, don't need nobody else
But it wouldn't hurt to have something in the works
Someday I'll trade my rent for mortgage and my own driveway
But that ain't anytime close to today
