High school kid, graduating '23
Way too many options for my future for just one of me
But every single industry I see and that appeals to me
Does not require GEDs, you just need creativity

Man, all this college talk is making my head hurt
I never was the best at school, I'd rather make bread first
I'd rather do a lot of things than sit in a classroom
Another 4 more years, especially if I don't have to

I'm stuck up on the fence, don't know what option is best yet
Either financial freedom, or live a life that's got debt stress
But when people keep on asking what I'm doing when I graduate
I tell them what they wanna hear, "College my next step"

But when I say that shit, deep down it's not what I mean
I'll be paying till my forties and I'm age seventeen
I asked my teacher, "What you thinking, maybe it's not for me"
And his response went something like this, he was saying to me...

"I still got debt I need to pay that's from 2003
But go to college and I promise you'll be better than me"
"Go and pursue something that you don't really wanna go be
It's either get that degree or be a bum in the streets"

"Man, look around at these big houses in our community
If you go to MIT then that's where you gonna be"
"You better go pursue a major that you don't wanna be
