It was one of those things you remembered
That I live down the street with the beat up cars
The side mirrors hang down into the sidewalks they drown
With the stripped down models and movie stars
Your clothes are dripping from head to toe
In the doorway with your back to the moonlight

We hide from the rain at the end of the world

You see the boy sat alone at the counter
You grasp his wrist and ask for the time
And infinity occupies his rosy cheeks in the moment before he speaks
In the predetermined destination of a rhyme
From a far off booth we watch him
With eyes fired with oil and coal
He keeps himself clean shaven
But there's cobwebs on his soul
Though we can keep an eye on each other
This light is a little too bright
In a trinity we all go alone
