Call me one the 12 disciples, I always be writing scriptures
As a kid I had my crayons in the pews I was drawing pictures
Never paid attention, I'm sorry God that's on me
But by chance now I'm rapping, I was rhyming at three
I always told myself to keep faith and trust in the lord
No stress in cutting ties with bad friends, umbilical chords
After every mass my mom what I hear when you talked
So here is my response as I now welcome you to pew talk

Life's been turning around for me lately
I'd like to have some more communion on my plate please

It's time to get a look at my life when I was a kid
When hide and seek was played at CCD, I always hid
When I weighed so much at birth, and then I was baptized
I drowned in holy water, that fat baby had capsized
Splash got a taste of church before I even knew it
Had my chance to a freestyle in the water but I blew it
Started crying in the church dripping water at the steeple
The poet was pure as the priest that posed for the people
Architecture was my favorite, stained glass windows with color
Singing hymns along with choirs made up of sisters and brothers
And then we break the bread, piece one and piece two
Maybe that's what he meant when he said peace be with you
Then on Easter you sing praises, rejoice and pleasant
And on his birthday I'm sure he appreciates people's presents/presence
Sorry mom I'm spacing out I'll listen to the dude talk

As parents you should learn to give some space to your kids
And as teens we need to move past, forget and forgive
We hold our grudges too long, we have drama to last a week
We interrupt the intelligent not allowing them to speak
A journey when successful has a difficult process
Imperative to grow and improve, we call that progress
