Making bootlegs every day, AM was my only source
Mix tapes laying everywhere, trying to catch my favorite songs
Turned in to my own DJ, friends would come to hear the show

Christmas came once a year, I never knew what to expect
Always wishing for one gift, one that I'll never forget
I can still smell that music, rolling off the thirty-three
Reading every liner note, singing loud but way off key

Music's in my soul, it's with me all the time
Jamming out to the radio, even songs that didn't rhyme
Now I hear those songs, tunes I just can't ignore
Taken back to a better time, favorite music like before

Headed down to the record shop, aisles of blissful ear candy
Searching for my favorite bands, those ones that understand me
Driving home with my music, with all those multiple tracks
I couldn't wait to hear them all, starting with those made out of wax

Spinning on my wax LP's or listening to the radio

Time has changed in many ways, things no longer look the same
I've forgotten many things, sometimes even my own name
But when I play my old LP's, singing along to every word
Knowing every pop and scratch, things that can't be unheard
