Ill-Advised

Ill-Advised: Presidential Health and Public Trust is a 1992 book by historian Robert Hugh Ferrell examining politically motivated cover-ups of serious medical issues afflicting U.S. presidents while they were in office. Although Dwight Eisenhower is the main focus of the book, it covers the presidency for a century, from Grover Cleveland's mouth cancer in 1893 to the health of George H.W. Bush, then-current president when the book was first published. All of these instances, Ferrell argues, raised serious questions about the fitness of each president to hold office, as well as whether the presidents and their physicians violated the public trust in keeping the incidents secret. more »

Division broadcast
On the avenue
I played the fool
Like you knew I would
As your convenience drugstore vanity
Chips away
The doorman's on the take
Social disorder is here to stay
Coalition think piece enemies
They howl away
Like bloodhounds gone insane
Maybe the rapture will come today
She said, "Hey, what's your name
"Have you seen my bad girl tendencies
I'll grant you clemency
For all the wrong kind of reasons"
Division broadcast
On the avenue
I played the fool
Like you knew I would
No contest plea
Jury's unanimous
It's justice served
I'm up to no good
Everybody's getting drunk for the weekend
You can give me fake love
We can pretend
Division broadcast
They're on the move
Like the sequenced dumbstruck casualty
Slips away
Your silence is betrayed
Big brother is here to stay
She said, "Hey, what's your type
"I could be your dream girl fantasy
Oh, I'd do anything
For all the wrong kind of reasons"
Division broadcast
On the avenue
I played the fool
Like you knew I would
No contest plea
Jury's unanimous
It's justice served
I'm up to no good
Everybody's getting drunk for the weekend
You can give me fake love
We can pretend
Division broadcast
They're on the move
If I stopped chasing
Would you run away
Run away
If I stopped breathing
Would you feel anything
Anything
You won't believe the truth
You know I don't assume
By descending shapes
Constructs fade away
Division broadcast
On the avenue
I played the fool
Like you knew I would
No contest plea
Jury's unanimous
It's justice served
I'm up to no good
Everybody's getting drunk for the weekend
You can give me fake love
We can pretend
Division broadcast
They're on the move
