One day, a schoolteacher by the name of
Ichabod Crane wandered into our peculiar settlement
He immediately appointed himself schoolmaster, and just like that
He started Sleepy Hollow's first school
Being a tall, lanky individual
With a pointed nose looking very much like the beak of a hawk
The name Crane really seemed to suit him well

When he first introduced himself to his students
He very likely said something of this nature
Good day. My name is Ichabod Crane. I am your new teacher
Education is my game, and if you know what's good for you
Learning had better be your aim. I don't put up with any nonsense
