Chase

The band Chase was created in 1970 by Bill Chase, Ted Piercefield, Alan Ware, and Jerry Van Blair, all veteran jazz trumpeters who were also adept at vocals and arranging. They were backed up by a rhythm section consisting of Phil Porter on keyboards, Angel South (b. Lucian Gondron) on guitar, Dennis Johnson on bass, and Jay Burrid (b. Jay Mitthauer) on percussion. Rounding out the group was Terry Richards, who was featured as lead vocalist on the first album. If you stick to the program
They say someone's bound to listen
But when you're writing your own script
Feeling like an outcast
You're living on the fringes

Now you're
Graduated from the infant stage you were just yesterday
Are you happy with your ending
Are you happy with your

Once we pass our knees
We are where we shouldn't be
Playing in the deep end
Hoping that our new friends
Tell us when we're drowning

I wish that you would listen
Put yourself in my position
You said I'm working hard to hide
The demands of my 9 to 5

Somewhere there's still a lesson

To be learned
Bide your time
Wage your turn

What if
What if
We can't go back

Once we pass our knees
We are where we shouldn't be
Playing in the deep end
Hoping that our new friends
Tell us when we're drowning

Once we pass our knees
We are where we shouldn't be
Playing in the deep end
Hoping that our new friends
Tell us when we're drowning

Na Na Na

I know you've come undone
I'll meet you on your level
As long as it takes
I need you now more than ever

Once we pass our knees
We are where we shouldn't be
Playing in the deep end
Hoping that our new friends
Tell us when we're drowning

I know you've come undone
I'll meet you on your level

Playing in the deep end
Hoping that our new friends
Tell us that we're drowning
