In WA is a good land
For fast and furry, stripy numbats
Who fear the fox and are cautious of cats
And have nowhere else to go

They love to eat termites, a-plenty
Eating up to a thousand times twenty
At night, they're asleep and awake by the day
Four baby numbats are wanting to play
Peeping out from a hollow log

Our numbat numbers are shrinking
They need a lifeboat, they're sinking
There's less than a thousand numbats, I'm told
They're far more precious than silver or gold
And more rare than a panda bear
