I'm not from 'round here and not trying to belong
This ain't a boastful rap song
It's the splitting blow of gong
These ain't foiled words from a vain wishing well
It's the solvent weld folium from the book of Kells
The far away silver bell is the rending sound of help
Jet-propelled outta hell from beyond Van Allen belt
The verso spells: Better know thyself
Cause one day it'll be too late when I might decide to check
Peak and see that my mind left
Nowhere to be found and yet, not a sign of theft
If I weren't robbed, where's my ID?
Thought people that don't wanna change stay the same way they used to be
But how can it be, the mirror on my wall ain't broken, yet not reflecting me
I try to smile and wave but suddenly see this unknown entity
It's pointing a finger at me while its neck starts to twist
And stops only after it turns 180 degrees
Does this hideous poser have a problem or is it possible it's just the way he speaks?
What if he's trying to tell me something that I might've missed
After I look for a bit reflection's back to normal, the way it's been looks right how it presently is
Hmmm what was the strange figure of speech?
Imagination's playing tricks? Yea, that's it!
If I want conformation Imma ask family and friends
They know who I am better than anyone else
Even in case they don't tell the truth, there's no way I can lie to myself
I do what I please, I'm in control of my mind, life, and dreams
I choose my opinions and beliefs,
Trust what I see with my eyes cause what I know's enough to understand what it means
Or so it seems

So it seems
For some, it seems they found Zion
Some can be religiously certain
But never worked for it or tried to peak the curtain
Everybody gets the call, while only few respond the rest sit behind crumbling walls
Watching how Babylon falls
Some things seem true when they are false
Something might seem real when it's in fact a hoax
Some things seem fake when they are not
Sometimes you've got the real thing but treat it like a prop
Sometimes it just seems too good to trust
So you expect the bad, keep testing and comparing to what you've dealt with in the past
When you keep looking for it way too long, you'll always find at last
But ignore what occurs in the process and won't realize it wasn't there at first
And no longer in the condition it once was
Suspicions rising among thoughts
Are like bats in twilight that replace birds
And careful the good is not taken away with the bad when you purge superstitions
It's common practice when the person is the physician
Contemplation of things as they are without substitution
Without error, imposture, or confusion
Is in itself the number one noblest thing that can be done under the sun
The coward calls himself cautious, the miser says he is frugal
Bur for real love, the man will sell even the most precious jewel
Love makes the man walk through ice and fire
But pain turns even the innocent man into a liar
Why is it that the majority doesn't know shit?
Cause you gotta live to study, and not study to live

To see and not understand is the same as to invent
Much easier to believe than to understand
Easy to pretend you know, hard to swallow truth
Easier to burn the bridge than walk in other man's shoes
Easy to spit words, hard to take em' back
Easier to live a lie than to face a fact
Easy to exit self-erected tower even at nightfall
Hard to do the same while wearing blindfold
Easy to act as hero, hard to share fate alongside your words
Easier to claim you're right till you suffocate than simply acknowledge when you're wrong
Easy to omit what doesn't serve you now, hard to admit what hasn't met the eye at all
Easier to live by the sword not caring if it's worth dying for
Than realizing moments before you are gone there was so much more
Easy to welcome death any day knowing you shot for the moon, chasing your dream into outer space
Hard to get what you want if fear controls your actions, while others dictate what your future entails
Easier to grimace, saving face from shame behind a shield of comforting shade
Than to face off your own shadow in the blinding light of day
Easy to push the other under moving train
Hard to kill the enemy residing in your brain
Hard to take the blame and stay on God's level
And, if instead of promised land you ascend down valley of death
Awakened in hell from the dream of heaven
Even harder not to turn into the Devil

Some still believe hip hop isn't deceased
Meanwhile, literature already ceased to exist
But poetry isn't just about rhyming wits
It's about truth and about speaking it
Selfless love had a great price, for having the pearl I paid with myself
Didn't choose to incarnate; I was blessed to experience true pain
Another foolish poet dragging the cross of Son of Man
Ain't a savior, just catching fish in Galilee pond
Plus really dig the view I get from the cross above monde
Can see the whole town beneath this VIP spot
Couldn't care less if a man can't become God
In case one can't be God, then to be a poet is the closest thing to that

I am the wine you drink, I am the bread you eat
Perfection's what I crave, excellence is what I seek
But your love is all I ever truly need
Although, all roads lead to the same place
Nothing but devotion to those we love goes with us to the grave
And trust in that love is what defines real faith
All other things fade until only dust remains
So, f*ck it man
Been taking stand before, still standing today
Don't give a damn about pain
But feel the day I lose my muse will be the Day I fly away
I'll fly away
I'll fly away while getting hella faded on a private plane
No matter the day, timing, and type of the incoming ending
Just as in the beginning was a Word
A Word shall be the last man standing
