The Thought

"The Thought: A Logical Inquiry" is an essay by Gottlob Frege. It was published as "Der Gedanke. Eine logische Untersuchung" in the philosophy journal Beiträge zur Philosophie des deutschen Idealismus (English: Contributions to the philosophy of German idealism) in 1918. It was republished in Mind in English in 1956. In it, Frege argues against idealism and for platonism about thoughts, or propositions. Frege says ideas are private, but thoughts are public. Frege said that such abstract objects were members of a third realm. Frege also argued for a redundancy theory of truth. Quoting Frege, "The thought, in itself immaterial, clothes itself in the material garment of a sentence and thereby becomes comprehensible to us. We say a sentence expresses a thought." more »

It's the Year of the Aux, I'mma stay oxygenated
I ain't here for the rocks, I'm here for what we cultivated
As a cult of vagrants, the secret cultural agents
Y'all sulking on the beach, egrets searching for a calorie
With the haste of a wasteland dweller, his face swelling
With lacerations you could only get from a propeller
On the breaks like a fake Mandela who ain't telling
The faithful of the cause something worthy of applause
Only selling tapes, draping strangers in merch they can purchase
Disregard the give and take, choosing mirth over purpose
Ain't deserving of my space, the rest of Earth at your service
Y'all at the pearly gates burning, 'cause you just a disturbance
I got my wording close to perfect 'cause I processed my trauma
Y'all ain't ever put that work in at your job at the plaza
I don't think I heard a word about you earning some honor
So I'm honestly unbothered by you, Mr. Rogers
Yo, no longer living with doubt
One thing about me, I'm gonna figure it out
Don't got time to sit on a couch and start wishin' for clout
They like how I deliver words and how I'm shipping them out
You ever been by yourself trying to find your self?
And the one thing that was missing was inside yourself?
Huh, me and humility, yeah we get along fine
It's about who you are offline, not online
Coming with the shipment, unloading the cargo
The gas you put on beats is watered down like Arco
Lack of diversity like employment at Wells Fargo
Give people what they need to stay driven, call me AutoZone
Got the Leaf Village with me, I am not alone
You can't outshine my shadow, Shikamaru speaking monotone
I never needed a hero, I just looked in the mirror
Can't have life without death, there is nothing to fear
Deacons decomposing, in the deep without my floaties
I could steep my tea with toadstools and geek on the weird
Got my beakers on the heat, three seven three Kelvin
Y'all can keep to Easy Street, the Seldom Scene get my cheers
The bells be ringing your ears, upon collision, I'm on a mission
To teach some politicians how to find the stairs
Only erring from the errand for the fairest-skin Karen
So I can push her down with 'em, end the workers' despair
I'm in your church with a flare, you're in my lab with a candle
I'm not a person who cares about the animal mantles
I'd rather Hannibal handle, leave nothing behind
Except your blood on the gravel and a pairing of wine
It's so apparent to mine, that y'all would dine on an island
Made from those you declined, out-of-hand, no replying
I don't know the compliant, only focused on clients
Once I grow my alliance it's over!
I'm in a stratosphere of pantomimes, passerby that are atomized
Doing commentary on a list of shit I haven't tried
List the shit I haven't tried, and get enamored by
They say that life's a bitch, you know it never hurts to fantasize
With this ventilation, another vent eventful
The supplement to what commences under one's potential
Osiris with the spindle, I'm in a vent full of riddles
On pendulums, barely visible, seminaries my ventricle
You could hate the world and be the only person miserable
Cut each other off and still grow like tentacles
I tend to do my thing, but never get the right words
Typically get melted at the tip of any iceberg
Just a fly nerd, out the ghetto, how we made it
From a chicken noodle, TV-dinner diet, microwavable
To now; I satiate my hunger with arithmetic
To quench the misconception of the castle when my temple splits
