The boy was out selling skipping school 'cause his fam in need of cash 
Developing some habits that don't make me proud and
Bragging about it like it was alright but the truth is 
That boy has never been
That boy has never been happy in his life 

When it's gotten to that place 
Where you got to turn away 
And you got to be strong again

You don't need nobody else
Only YOU is your friend 

And I remember always getting into trouble 
I just couldn't fit in there 'cause I don't f*ck with peoples vibes now

You could never tell what is going on in my mind 
I would always smile even when I feel like dying inside
But I know I'm strong
I've been overcoming every obstacle I've got encountered on the way

And I made a promise to myself 
That it wouldn't matter if I break the other promises as long as I put all my family to live The life they all deserve 
And I'm certain that I'm gonna do it 
Even when I had to sell my soul to make it man 
I don't really have too much to lose so I'm all the way in 
I've been hungry all my life
