Chicago

Chicago (i/ʃɪˈkɑːɡoʊ/ or /ʃɪˈkɔːɡoʊ/) is a rock band from the city of the same name. They were originally founded as Chicago Transit Authority before shortening their name before their breakout second album. They became known for their use of horns in their songs such as 25 or 6 to 4. The band nearly split following founding member Terry Kaths death but they decided to stay together. They became known for their rock ballads throughout the 80s. The band still tours to this day. more »

I've been searching and searching
But the trail was turning cold
Running sideways and in circles
Looking for that heart of gold

I finally threw my hands up
And simply handed over the key
Felt the power of surrender
That's when your love set me free

I was born (I was born) for this moment (for this moment)
You sure took your sweet time
Down by end alleys and broken roads
You took my darkest hour and you made it shine
I was born (I was born) for this moment (for this moment)
Now my world has come alive
I can feel it when you touch my hand
It took patience and time for me to understand

I was hungry for adventure
Chasing every crazy dream
I was living in the moment
But the moment wasn't what it seemed

Then I saw a vision
Your eyes across the crowded room
Felt the power of emotion
And these are the words I said to you

I was born (I was born) for this moment (for this moment)
You sure took your sweet time
Down by end alleys and broken roads
You took my darkest hour and you made it shine
I was born (I was born) for this moment (for this moment)
Now my world has come alive
I can feel it when you touch my hand
It took patience and time for me to understand

I was born (I was born) for this moment (for this moment)
You sure took your sweet time
Down by end alleys and broken roads
You took my darkest hour and you made it shine
I was born (I was born) for this moment (for this moment)
Now my world has come alive
I can feel it when you touch my hand
It took patience and time for me to understand

I was born (I was born) for this moment (for this moment)
I've been searching and searching
Down by end alleys and broken roads
You took my darkest hour and you made it shine
I was born (I was born) for this moment (for this moment)
Now my world has come alive
I can feel it when you touch my hand
It took patience and time for me to understand
