Let me tell you a story about a boy named Tom who was pissed off all the time
He hated the world and the people that made it selling their soul for a suit and tie
He was a no good heathen just trying to find meaning fighting demons all through the Night
So every single evening he'd be staring at the ceiling just pleading that he'd be alright

There he goes, running away from the things inside
He can't slow down and he can't ever seem to swallow his own damn pride
There he goes, keeping everything inside
He can't slow down and cant seem to see that all he needs to do is cry

So don't hold back all the feelings that you try and ignore

Cause this  life ain't forever and things will get better when you die and see the good old Lord
So slow on down running round this town fighting demons with your edgeless sword

Well that boy kept faith and that boy found Grace on a on a brisk Philadelphia day
It sure took a while but from then on he smiled like child in a beautiful way
In that Cape May breeze that boy took a knee with his heart beating through his chest
He couldn't believe that girl didn't leave he was damned and she was the best

There she goes, walking down that aisle
He can stop smiling and he can't stop trying to keep those tears inside
There he goes, as the tears swell up in his eyes
He can't stop smiling and he can't stop crying 'bout a girl so beautifully kind

As he said his vows that boy broke down and his tears went and flooded the floor
He said forever and ever, every day will get better till we go an see the good old Lord

Tommy was happy he was always laughing but Grace beat him to the punch
It was a dark day in June when he lost his muse and found a vice called Kentucky Deluxe
There he goes, poisoning his liver again
He can't slow down killing that crown drowning memories of way back when

So hold it back and drown everything inside

And don't slow on down killing your crown and yourself keep it strong when you pour
Cause you know what'll happen if you let the rapids flood the levees and fall to the floor
