Despite the pressure, pandemic pandemonium
Collective depression
I still feel real good most days
Even when God has to use my own tears to wash my face
We are so much more than our suffering
And have access to divine mothering
There are holy masters stretching out their hands
Guiding us so we can imagine something different
Like a sea of oak trees playing in water
Or black people free and belly laughing
Even the gloomiest parts of history can't erase our good
It is our birthright
The universe is generous and provides proficient light
I invite you to pause and look around
In Earth school the lessons are simple and sometimes profound
I am often blown away by the beauty nature winks
Random acts of kindness
And the abundance that flows through me and to me
My forehead kisses the ground even when my heart hurts
Because I have received so many blessings that were covered in dirt
From the mud, I built the inner island of my wildest dreams
And I give thanks for having the privilege to simply breathe

I knew it was more than feeling
When its movement depended on everything I did
When I invited it into my nature
When I got tired of being down

And since then Good is infinite
Many don't find too much good in the world anymore
But that doesn't mean its nonexistent
It was a surgical glance
Staring back at me from the mirror
Tear replaced by an entire future in my eyes
Giving me the strength to jump out of a past that held me
Out of the voids seeking to destroy
The good already built and destined to continue
