Colder than November is the chill of late December
Far in isolation from my home
Mystic in the snowflakes drifting down from heaven's hands
Frost gives me chills down to the bone
Running through my memories in days that feel like centuries
Frozen from a nightmare in a dream
The snow is in a rage and the notes on the page
Moving softly in the candle's glow

Like a ghostly choir, the wind is moaning low
Lights of red and green are on the door
Purest white and shades of blue that magnetize the air
A purple tinge is creeping on the floor
The room is all a haze, I'm so tired in an endless daze
I'm even writing in my sleep
Madness in a soft descent, I'm shivering.  I'm just so spent
Treading where the icy hills are steep

In the dark of winter's eve, pure imagination haunts me still
I'm going nowhere in a hurry and I feel like I'm stranded on a windowsill

A lonely star burns sapphire when the clouds have gone away
I'm on the road to somewhere, I don't know
The green fairy took me and showed me around this lonely town
Not a soul in sight, I'm on my own
Over by the churchyard, there's an open iron gate
Where voices lurking draw me in
Strings and bells are howling like a wolf unto the storm
I hear the midnight toll is born

Here in this enchanted realm, it's frigid and serene
Stain glass windows beckon as I stare
Glistening like twilight as they cast their magic spell
The forest creeks and trembles unaware
An instant is released and everlasting time has ceased
Won't put my ambitions on the shelf
I feel someone or something is working through me now
Sometimes the music writes itself
