The river Meus runs in between both armies

They wanna take the mighty fortress of Verdun

But as they march you can hear the sound
Of rifles rattling of shells breaking ground
The germans really seek a divisive victory
So they muster up divisions of men bearing down
On the french positions many villages before them
And none will be spared the onslaught when their found
The landscape is turning into brown and some gray
