I need some time for me

Funny how the time flies with some careless conversation
Only Lord knows how to save a dying nation
I'm a renegade from a tested generation
Looking for answers within myself but they just keep escaping

Me, my wife, and dog are the only things that I'm takin'

It's a grave statement that they're making, no debatin'
