No matter how big I grow
I'm always your little soldier
Afraid of what the world will do to me
And truthfully you had every right to be afraid
Not knowingly what the outcome would be

A mother and father

I've never been able to understand
Why father does the things he does
But that's a mystery for the both of us

I've got distracted and got things lost
Call a flat line a dead beat but I made a promise to not be weak
To not off myself in times of need
But everyday seems someone

I wish I could catch a break like back in the day
When I come in from the snow I can still feel that very cold

You made hot chocolate it was still piping hot
And I burnt my tongue cuz I never stop
To listen to what you told me them nights, I took them for granted
It was harmony the older I grow
The more that you know that I'm your little solider I'm crazy
But you helped shaped me saved me
Made me a person younger me would feel  safe around
You taught me family is everything
Even if they aren't a blessing to be around
Even if the home isn't heavenly
Even if death isn't immediate
You taught me spend time with the village
Because family is family
