With all beauty seemingly exiled to The Moon
We got rockets to fire, and a linguistic flat tyre
And English is now the domain of the loon

My sweet Mama paints, Dad sings the blues
My kids, they'll never learn to tie their shoes
We watch the news, but the news, ain't really news anymore
In London, New York, Cape Town, Sydney
There's a line around the block where you can sell 'em your kidneys
If your money's all gone, cos it got spent war
But what would mister Shakespeare think
Of the standards to which we sink

We got microwave ovens and coffins by the dozen
And English remains the domain of the loon

Iraq pumps oil in it's Iraqi oil rigs
Africa's on the build, after a couple bad ideas
I ain't sure exactly why exactly we flushed this language down the can and this language began to flush
But I'm pretty sure a step back, couldn't do no harm
