Exhumed

Exhumed is an American death metal band from San Jose, California, most recently signed to Relapse Records. They were formed in 1990, when founding and sole-remaining member Matt Harvey was 15 years old. Exhumed spent much of the ensuing decade releasing numerous demos, split CDs, and EPs. The band finally recorded their debut album Gore Metal in 1998. The album crystallized the old-school death metal meets full-on grindcore sound forged during the recordings of their last demo and first split CD ("Horrific Expulsion of Gore" and "In the Name of Gore"). more »

And so I take this blade, my choice now clearly made
But once the violence fades, a dread pervades

Wretched, wrenching, retching stench
Clutching at clarity no longer entrenched

In someone else's blood I am drenched
A grisly, gore-soaked, gratuitous gut-wrench
Cranium pulped and pulverized
Gray matter bruised and brutalized
No nose, no face, no mouth, no eyes
Disgusting dreams now realized
Death courses through blackened veins,
another life so cruelly slain
As they endeavor to explain
The depths of my depravity
Now madness I embrace, Leaving the world to face,
the disgust I felt replaced
With a numb tranquility
The abhorrence I impart, within the bowels of the torn apart
