A big, shiny star was lighting up the sky
Over Bethlehem, so bright
Mary said to Joseph
"You'd better pull over
And find a place to stay tonight"
Joseph hammered on the door
But it was Christmas Eve
And everywhere was jam-packed full
The Landlord said
"I can give you a bed
If you can put up with my bull"

Mary said to Joseph, "Oh my water's have broken
I think the child could be in danger"
And he said "Worry ye not
Though we ain't got a cot
We can put the sprog in yonder manger"

The beard has gone white
