Well, I went out on the water, to net myself some greens
And when I slid up to the tower, they were packed like sardines
The tide was really rippin', but a bait ball caught my eye
So at the risk of disaster, I let my cast net fly. Don't know why
When I pulled up the hand line, to bring my net back in
She was hung up on the tower, the current drug her in
She came back ripped and torn, can't say I ain't been warned
But on the water on my boat is where my best ideas get born
Well, my cast net ain't no good, I'm gonna stow it away
There's a bait man over there, I guess I'll have to pay
It goes against my grain, fueling his financial gain
But I want to go fishin', so I guess I'll endure the pain
Now I'm back at the house, and I'm sewing like mad
Going cross-eyed as I try, to mend all the holes I had
Going back out in the morning, and this net needs to fly
Cause if I have to pay that bait man, I'll hang my head and cry
No, I'm not paying that bait man, don't need to tell you why
