Far From Home

Right!
I'm back in the booth, it's been a little minute
But you know in this time I've been gone
I been living, seeing some things
Shoutout to CASTLEBEAT on this one by the way
We reporting live from Castle Hill
Listen

Man this shit is crazy, feel like I ain’t do this in a while
Last time I wrote a rhyme, back when the world was shutting down
Looked in my app to be exact, 2020 June 25
Now it’s 2021, we on this 5th day of July
It’s been so long, I wonder why
I guess I needed hiatus
Guess I needed time to live, now I fill in my pages
Of mi diario, in the format of audio
Know me then you’ll prolly know
That this life that I’m chasing
Is full of bells and whistles
Along with that some other things this type of life would entail
Referring to the darker side, they hardly give us intel
‘Cept for the few heroes we idolize because they meant well
The reason why they win still
This road’ll crack your windshield and reveal your intentions
To turn around, or will you survive and then still go the distance?
My nigga just trust me, you would be lucky if they send well wishes
But with elevation that you been making, they watch and then they’ll listen
Right

Damn it feels so good to be back home
It's like I ain't even know I still had it in me
But that was 2021, so much changed since

And I been gone for so long
It feels so good to be home
Man I been gone for so long
I been all on my own
For so long
2022

I woke up on an average day, prolly just a 2020 Saturday
Where tragically, we trapped behind these walls, all cast away
I’m glad to say that I ain’t let this time go to waste
Well actually that’s after weeks of being a disgrace
To everything that I promised to myself
Constant growth and constant motion
And improvement on my health
Done with loafing, looked in the mirror with a purpose
To take advantage of this down time that we’ve been dealt
How it felt?
Step one, a change of scenery, I took it back home
Atlanta to NY, that’s ‘bout 15 hours on road
'Cause that’s somewhere that I know that I
Would surely find a piece of mind
And roam the city every night
No limits to what I would find
It’s been a blessing, just reconnecting with some old friends
That’s years we cherish, from adolescence to some grown men
Path is separate, I’m chasing this music long as success hit
Just building leverage, 'cause in this era boy we gon' win
I know the destination, only problem is the path
'Lotta niggas called it quits with this experience I’ve had
Niggas booking me but then intimidated by the craft
And wanna ask for favors while they talking shit behind my back
And all I do is laugh, it’s what I signed up for right?
I know these niggas opportunists, so why be surprised?
All for self, it ain’t personal, they trying to survive
Ain’t even mad, dawg I get it, I just won’t compromise
And honestly, Atlanta scene, I feel like an outsider
Usually I would embrace having to be the outlier
But shit get so stressful when you
Exceed in effort, then you
Just feel neglected, 'cause they don’t fucking get it
That it’s deeper than rap, it’s more to the craft
It is open mind that they lack
Or matter of fact, the way they react
Try holding me back like they under attack
But trust we all can eat, but often we
Just often think, “it’s more for me”
Try tarnishing, that’s forcing me
To say this shit is all for me
And years back I saw Cordae, absolutely amazed
By his presence on the stage in my view
Inspired man, I wanna go straight to the booth
My nigga Jordan tapped me, said, “Man I can’t wait 'til that’s you”
Damn, that’s a true friend, those words stuck with me
Lost a few on the way to go along with some women
Some reached out later apologizing for endings
Or new beginnings, girl I wish you would hit me
But off that, that’s off track, got no time for feelings
‘Specially as of late with this life I’m living
I been road-tripping, long distance
Scratching off destinations on bucket listings
See the world through these lenses
Long ass flights, layovers through the night
But the shit is like a breeze when a nigga so excited
For the first time that I touch my feet down in Thailand
Like how the f*ck could this place exceed my desires?
Now I need an address here, a place that I rest here
Fit in perfectly, already hella connects here
Domestic flights to go and see the beach in Phuket here
But with these experiences I’ll tell you my biggest fear
That too much fun’ll have the work slowing up
I still ain’t reach my dreams man, will this take my focus?
But on the flip side, still I get inspired then I
Turn that into these words, soon have us going up

And I been gone for so long
And I swear to god it feels so good to be home
Home
Baby
