About Kiss My Fat Ass

"Kiss My Fat Ass" is a song by Australian indie pop band Sheppard. It was released as a single on 26 July 2019. In a statement Amy Sheppard called the song "an empowerment anthem" saying "I've spent years trying to hide my flaws, to get the right lighting, the right pose, the right outfits all so I could hide" adding "I'm an average sized 12 woman. The thing is, I've been labelled all throughout my life... worst of all, I've sprayed hate on myself. Sadly, I can't say I have met a woman who hasn't done the same. "The song exists thanks to Amy's body positivity movement, "Kiss My Fat Ass". In January, Amy began sharing unfiltered and unedited photos — with the hashtag #KissMyFatAss — in a bid to encourage young social media users to love and accept their bodies as they are. Her first post reached almost 40,000 likes and comments from people thanking her.

I don't wanna be like
Every other girl that's on tv
Underneath the bright lights
They all want perfection out of me

How did we let it,
How did we let it
Get so bad, it's out of our control

I've gone and said it
I don't regret it
It's too bad, I'm not your barbie doll

(K-I-S-S, you can kiss my fat ass)

I won't fall for it today
You should be better, you should be better
No, why would I just waste away
You should be thinner, you should be thinner
Comfortable in my skin
Why should that be a sin?
We're all made in a peculiar way
Well I'm done with this stupid game
And as I'm leaving, you can kiss my fat ass

Time to slay the monster
Feeding off our insecurity
I know it can be conquered
So pour out all the potion and the tea

They keep supplying
We keep on buying
Almost like it's out of our control

I've gone and said it
I don't regret it
It's too bad, I'm not your barbie doll

(K-I-S-S, you can kiss my fat ass)

I won't fall for it today
(You should be better, you should be better)
No, why would I just waste away
(You should be thinner, you should be thinner)
Comfortable in my skin
Why should that be a sin?
We're all made in a peculiar way
Well I'm done with this stupid game
(And as I'm leaving, you can kiss my fat ass)

Nip, tuck, trim, suck
Put it back together
Lip, cut, tit, butt
You can live forever

Nip, tuck, trim, suck,
Put it back together
Lip, cut, tit, butt
You can live forever

(K-I-S-S, you can kiss my fat ass)

I won't fall for it today
(You should be better, you should be better)
No, why would I just waste away
(You should be thinner, you should be thinner)
Comfortable in my skin
Why should that be a sin?
We're all made in a peculiar way
Well I'm done with this stupid game
(And as I'm leaving, you can kiss my fat ass)
