The 101'ers

The 101ers were a pub rock band from the 1970s playing mostly in a rockabilly style, notable as being the band that Joe Strummer left to join The Clash. Formed in London in May 1974, the 101ers made their performing debut on 7 September at the Telegraph pub in Brixton, under the name 'El Huaso and the 101 All Stars'. The name would later be shortened to the '101 All Stars' and finally just the '101ers'. Beware the mass
And sandal men with sacks
Though you've gone all organic
You're phone's still bein' tapped
And all those craving
In detentions they'll ?

Think I'm bein' followed and taken for a ride
He took a picture of my eye and he lied and lied
Told me what might happen
No hits yet but nowhere to hide
Took a picture of my eye and he tried and tried
Try to make me nervous and to keep us terrified

If you worry bout house prices
If they drop the dirty bomb
Least you got an iPod
And you ripped the bird flu song

Worry bout my children
Court orders apply
Still I'm gettin' nervous
Here comes the F.B.I.

He took a picture of my eye and he lied and lied
Told me what might happen
No hits yet but there's nowhere to hide
Took a picture of my eye and he tried and tried
Try to make me nervous and to keep us terrified
Here comes the bride Here comes the bride
Lives under the fly path and she's terrified

Locked up in a bedroom
Afraid to go outside
All this morbid fascination to control
And keep us terrified

Took a picture of my eye and he lied and lied
Told me what might happen, no hits yet but nowhere to hide
Took a picture of my eye and he tried and tried
Tried to make me nervous and to keep us terrified

Panics at the pub 'cause we're running out of juice
Butterflies and ? to their old ends in use
Dig a trench on the riverbank
To turn back the tide

On a hide into nothing when our two worlds collide
Took a picture of my eye and he lied and lied
Told me what might happen no hits yet but there's nowhere to hide
Took a picture of my eye and he tried and tried
Try to keep us nervous and to keep us terrified
Here comes the bride Here comes the bride
Loves under the fly path and she's terrified

Locked up in a bedroom
Afraid to go outside
All this morbid fascination to control
And keep us terrified
They're just trying, they're just trying to keep us terrified
Its designed, its designed to keep us terrified
To keep us terrified
To keep us terrified
To keep us terrified
To keep us terrified
That's what I got
