Yo
MC Nice
Helpfulness Gang
Let me talk to y'all
So first let me set the scene
We got three MC beasts, deemed pristine, it's the dream team
That would be: MC Nice, The Big Help, too
Lil Sammy to boot, hip hop's helping-est group
We in the booth, full plates for the record
Not the studio, no, it's Denny's, we having breakfast
Not getting reckless we get the check and
We check it up and down like Saint Nicholas with the checklist
Then Sam checks it too, starts getting a little rude
He says "Gratuity, excuse me, who are you?
I'm sick of this tipping, it's foolish. I'm skipping the tip they included
They're trying to cheat, but you didn't freak when they charged us two-fifths?"
Cool it, let me school ya
I got a concept I see I need to be introducing
It's called decency, and it's a part of being human
If you don't want people to turn to crime, like you did, Sammy
Well, ask your momma or your granny
Your uncle or your nanny, bet there's someone in your family
That's relied on tips, just to make enough to live
Depending on the generosity of those who give
A 10 percent tip just isn't enough
If you want the server to be able to buy stuff
Like heat for the house, a water supply
Or pay her credit card bills so she doesn't get fined
Keep her approval up so she doesn't get fired
Keep her enthusiasm up so she doesn't get tired
Cuz if the hourly wage, ain't enough to be paid
Then we gotta be G's, to keep 'em staying alive
And it's not 40 percent, but that would be nice
Two bucks on your ten is more than fair for the price
So don't be rude, that's how you're gonna be viewed
If you can't afford 20 percent, then order less food
From the moment you arrive until it's time to split
Be respectful, your server's deserving of all of it
Not just 10 percent, cuz what you give is what you get
Sit tight, it's MC Nice's survival tips
From when you arrive until it's time to split
Be respectful, your server's deserving of all of it
Not just 10 percent, cuz what you give is what you get
Sit tight, there's are my survival tips
So if you say "tip your waitress" when you hear this song
Yeah 20 percent is right, but you're 20 percent wrong
You mean server, waitperson or waitron
It's the same job no matter what's under the apron
And you can cut it with the pet names, the world won't end
If you wanna call someone sweetie, save it for you girlfriend
Or if you're from the south, with 'honey' in your mouth, fact
You can put it in your tea, but don't call the server that
It's always better to be on the right side of the serve
Cross the line, no love, you'll get what you deserve
"They'll spit in my food" it's funny that you say that
You don't have to drink spit, just don't be mean to the waitstaff
Cuz on top of low pay, you get treated like dirt
Why would you wanna work if everybody served is a jerk
Yeah being nice to people, is a feeling you can't fake
So either be kind, or stay home and make your own damn pancakes
From the moment you arrive until it's time to split
Be respectful, your server's deserving of all of it
Not just 10 percent, cuz what you give is what you get
Sit tight, it's MC Nice's survival tips
From when you arrive until it's time to split
Be respectful, your server's deserving of all of it
Not just 10 percent, cuz what you give is what you get
Sit tight, there's are my survival tips
Yo, so I think I got it, knowing what I know
My tipping was low, I'm flipping the flow, I'll give it a go
Cuz I'm not broke, they don't deserve to be either
Yeah I got woke, with MC Nice as my teacher
For a while, I felt justified cuz I got to pay less
But if I were in those shoes, I wouldn't wanna be the waitress
Oh snap, I mean server, a job title should never infer 'her'
And I unearthed the fervor to be worldly word rehearser
So on a 15 dollar bill, 20 percent would be plenty
Add 3 bucks it's 18, you know what just take twenty
So I'll leave a Lincoln, I feel emancipated
And I'm honest in my thinking, this feeling is the greatest
I was jaded by the wages for a server in the U.S.
Just pay your worker what they're worth, the truth is that it's foolish
Waiting should be a job where your money is set
But until that issue gets fixed, tip 20 percent
From the moment you arrive until it's time to split
Be respectful, your server's deserving of all of it
Not just 10 percent, cuz what you give is what you get
Sit tight, it's MC Nice's survival tips
From when you arrive until it's time to split
Be respectful, your server's deserving of all of it
Not just 10 percent, cuz what you give is what you get
Sit tight, there's are my survival tips
